Almost every time one of our Pattengale Couples hits the Journal there’s a direct message in my inbox. It’s from Cheryl. She’s just about the sweetest – always sharing what she loves about the couple – people she doesn’t even know – the photography, and most of all, the love stories. A smile escapes me every time I see her name pop up. Because for Stephen and I, we know just how fun Josh & Cheryl are when they’re together. And, we know that it is with an almost baited breath, that they’ve waited for their turn.
“…It’s a way of life for them. Almost like a constant musing,
“What would make their day even better?”
Today is the day…
Meet Josh & Cheryl.
A couple who’s love is quiet but with such bursts of genuine laughter that, each time, you can’t help but join in. They’ve been there for each other, through thick & thin. But perhaps what we admire the most about these two is their tenderness in considering the other person – effortlessly. It’s a way of life for them. Almost like a constant musing, “What would make their day even better? How can I communicate how much I love him/her even more?” And their engagement session at Klondike State Park was, in one word, dreamy.
We never cease to be amazed by the couples we have the privilege of walking alongside of. Couples who are more like friends than they are clients.
With that, enjoy these engagement favorites & yeah, their personal love story too…
“Josh happened to add me on Facebook when I was on an extremely long layover coming home from England. We had several mutual friends so I accepted. We started talking and hit it off right away. When he’d text me I’d immediately get butterflies and smile from ear to ear. After a while he asked me to meet in person, but I was still a little skeptical…”
“A few months later I agreed meet and fell in love with Josh instantly. Once we met it was hard to go a day without seeing each other, I missed Josh every moment we were apart. He always gets me flowers and as he was leaving the house one day he said, “I’m going to do my best to make sure that vase always stays full.” Josh is amazing like that and is always leaving me love notes around the house.”
“When I first met Cheryl I was very skeptical about trusting and letting somebody in my life…but then again, all I knew was that I felt so comfortable around her. She’s such a caring and loving person and it wasn’t long before I knew she’d be perfect to stand by my side for the rest of my life…”
“One year later, as we were taking a walk around the lake by our house, Josh proposed.
It was the day after his birthday and as he got down on one knee he said, “I didn’t get everything I wanted for my birthday yesterday…” There he was, holding the ring.
I started crying tears of joy immediately.
Josh is my home, my soulmate, my best friend, my everything. I can’t wait to marry the love of my life next year and create more amazing memories, together!”
“Cheryl pushes me to follow my dreams and helps me more than she could ever know. She is so thoughtful and has a smile that melts my heart.
I can’t wait to see her in that dress walking down the aisle and officially becoming each other’s family.
If I’ve learned one thing from being with Cheryl it’s that you truly do find love when you least expect it. I’m so happy I’ve found mine.”
