We’ve all read those posts that go deep and use nature and springtime as a metaphor. Today’s Weekend Wear won’t be one of them. Except for the fact that nature and springtime vibes did inspire this weekend’s look. And with Easter upon us, featuring a dress was, of course, a must!
Psssst! I’m excited to show off more of a conceptual way of approaching your spring wardrobe this next month.
Sorry not sorry about wearing a flowered dress in the midst of blossoms…

The look & experiment: Take a favorite dress out of your closet. Really look at the colors & patterns. Then pull out anything else that could go/match (color story) and spread everything out on your bed or floor. If you can decorate an entire space around one throw pillow, you can redesign your month’s style with one dress. Boom. You now have a foundational idea & accent colors.
The Thought Process: Playing with pinks, reds, & plums. Keeping it whimsical, yet anchoring with hightop kicks. Because we all love a girl who mixes in that tomboy with effortless femininity. *insert stalking too many Madewell instas…
Mixing it up: An entirely different look – inspired by the same concept and color story…
I just “happened” upon this idea when I was laying out some of my “oldies but goodies.” My eyes were opened and all the style voices in my head said amen! I’m telling you. Get your clothes out of your closet and spread them out. It’s okay, I’ll wait for you. Hmm, now walk out of your room, grab a cuppa, and then walk back in. You’ll be surprised by how many of your own amens resound.
Mhmm, you’re welcome.
