The breeze blew perfectly.
With yard games set and lunch spread bountifully, the family gathers.
General chatter of life-long friends reacquainting fills the air.
In good time, the festivities officially begin and excited glances pass from face to face.
And it is here, that the new journey,
the new story
of hullo to forever, enduring love, and partnering with each other,
begins.
Finally, all the long distance,
and the ache of missing him,
melts away.
Because the only reality ahead?
Relishing the sweetness of being loved & loving wholly.
The waves break gently against the shore.
The nieces and nephews find all the sand nothing short of fascinating.
And then the cue comes to walk down the aisle: Chariots of Fire.
Just like that “you” becomes “we.”
And oh! how the depth of emotion,
this newfound level of pure delight,
seeps into the very essence of life.
See, there is no such devotion
that weaves itself stronger than that of husband and wife.
For now, there are only higher heights.
Yes, this is Love.
Cupcakes and twinkle lights and Frank Sinatra sets the tone for the perfect evening reception.
Childhood stories abound and glasses clank together.
And signing the marriage license ensues.
This is life as Mr & Mrs.
He is there.
Beside you, with his arm ever encircling you.
All that’s left is to dream
of what is yet to be
and all that is yet to come.
