How I could live in Richmond and not hear of the gorgeous Pharsalia Estate is beyond me. Complete with a flower farm, this family-owned 1814 plantation is the perfect spot for an intimate wedding. I could have kept shooting all day with so many antiques (because I nerd out over those types of things easily), in the little barns with horses or apple orchard!
Working with Kathryn Ivy photography in documenting Kathryn & Wade’s wedding was a day well spent. She had previously assisted me the weekend before, so filling that same position for her was fun – I mean really, spending the day around flowers with a friend?! Yes please! Kathryn & Wade’s love & commitment to each other was evident. Their day was relaxed and focused on reuniting with their closest friends & family! Here are some of my favorites from the day…
(All images shot by me – per assisting Kathryn Ivy)
Can we just pause and all gasp at how perfect Kathryn’s taste in shoes & lace dress is?! Also, Wade made one heck of a dapper groom!
And because they just couldn’t wait to see each other, a quick “First Look” was a must. Sometimes all you need is that quick glance to calm nerves and amp up the joy!
With thousands of rolling acres and the DePrieste mountain as the backdrop, these two committed the rest of their lives to each other as their family & friends murmured amens, “yeahs!,” and cheers throughout!
After portraits, Kathryn & Wade didn’t want the fuss of an introduction or wedding games. Instead, some heartfelt words were shared, the champagne was poured, Kathryn changed into a more comfortable reception dress, the children tugged them onto the dance floor, and the live band took the night away! Did I mention they had some swing dancing?
Kathryn & Wade, your wedding was beautiful and so relaxed. Thank you for the way you love your family and each other – here’s to many happy years together! Kathryn Ivy, thanks for the opportunity to shoot alongside of you, for sharing the clients you hold so dear, and just being an incredible friend & encourager in the industry!
