WEEKEND WEAR – Florals for Easter

When you part ways abruptly,
…blame it on life, planning a wedding, or moving, if you must…
it means saying Hullo! again seems just that more rewarding & refreshing!

Weekend Wear is back, friends! These just-for-fun blog seshs over the past two and half years have been nothing short of incredible. Cities all over the country, backseat changing, and all kinds of unexpected are all part of these little Friday vignettes.

New to Weekend Wear? Welcome!

(Photos by Jessica Lauren, edited by me)

The ups and downs of learning just how to express who we are to the world is something we – like it or not – all share. And for me, style is the means for that first impression, that first expressive Hullo!

I’m no expert,
but I do love helping other women
in knowing how to utilize their wardrobes creatively.

My mission here is to foster personal growth & self-confidence. You are beautiful. And yes, you can be a 2 or 22 kinda girl and I’ll still think you’re hott with two ‘T’s. In my book, pulling something off with class (or sass) is more about your perspective than your waistline measurement.

So put on your power panties and get ready!
There’s new places, new style essentials, & new loves headed your way…

Easter Dresses 101:
Growing up, my dad always bought me a new Easter dress. Now, as a twenty somethin somethin, I felt a little nostalgic about that tradition. So when this In My Secret Garden floral maxi dress  showed up in my browser, I had to have it! Its versatility in pairing it with either black or brown accessories, coupled with the breathable material & cut-outs, makes me even more of a believer in this spring clothing line by Tobi.

Why it works: Pointed-toe flats are almost always my go-to, but especially so when there’s triangular designed front and/or thinner straps. I kept accessories to a minimum due to hotter temperatures (**cough, cue WEDDING RINGS all day errrydayyy) and only added my Madewell hat to bring in more of that boho style.

Changing it up:
As if this dress wasn’t effortless enough, a simple knot in the hem, a quick change of shoes and earrings turns this “everyday” into the “fancy factor” we all need for a date night out after work! Add a topknot and you got a thing o’ beauty. Amirite?

Shop This Look:

Tell me YOUR thoughts…
As I plan more Weekend Wear outfits, tips, and inspiration, what is it that you’d like to see? What problem areas do you have when it comes to style and appreciating your wardrobe? Tell me in the comments!

We’re all in this together!
Always,
–Tara M

    • Aw thanks Aunt Carol! Haha, girl. It’s not junk! You have things you can pull off that I never could because of it! 😉 I would suggest just above the knee length skirts as opposed to floor length. You want your leg length to balance the backend. Also, I would focus on good necklines (v-necks as opposed to boat or crew neck). That way your eye keeps going down instead of side to side or one area. 😉 Lastly, I think you always look great in coral and pinks. So have fun! Xoxo

  • Wouldn’t you wear a sweater in this? I know bare shoulders and no bra would offend people at the church I go to for Easter.

    • Hey Kat!

Thanks for your comment! Sure thing, you can always wear a sweater with your dress! In fact, I did this Sunday because of air conditioning always freezing me. 😉 In my book, there’s always creative ways to add layers and work within your comfort zone / respect the places & people you are in and interact with. Each of us have differing levels of what this could look like. My goal with Weekend Wear is to give ideas – a recipe of sorts – in which you can then personalize & substitute elements as needed. 🙂
