There is one thing we can all relate with: the simplicity of childhood. Life in the early years is just really simple. Actually, childhood contains all the elements of today but just in a more minimalistic way. There is growth, learning, and discovery everywhere – from the crumb on the floor to the new book or toy. There is bustle and attention spans are hijacked by distractions.
So while a lot changes as time goes on, it’s good every once in a while to just take a step back and enjoy the simple things in life, you know?
Meet my pal, Judah! (I love saying his name : Joooooodah!)
Although Judah’s aunt and uncle provided more than enough entertainment, he sometimes just wanted to do his own thing, beat on his belly like Tarzan, exclaim, “TRACTORRRR” loudly, give kisses, or throw his beloved “Puppaaayyy” towards you. You know, the usual.
I love how Judah’s mom, Sarah, decorated his room with old children’s books, vintage toys intermingled with new ones, all the while keeping functionality in mind.
Also, sometimes you just need to get out of the house, run around, giggle, and maybe even pretend to be grown up (or pretend to be a kid again).
Isn’t he adorable? Spending a few hours with Judah was not only an afternoon well spent, but also a needed reminder to appreciate the simplicities of life. And for that, I’m grateful.
Always,
