As a Midwest girl at heart, cozy winter evenings have always been something I look forward to. And while Virginia has a milder winter season than Indiana, I still get a bit giddy with the approaching winter season and the cozy evenings it encourages. Not to mention, two of my favorite holidays are during the winter months (…but I mean, I love celebrating pretty much anything). Christmas is so lovely and Allison, my Virginia-mom, does such a BEAUTIFUL job decorating. There’s just something about everything having twinkle lights, pops of rich colors, and a fire going that makes me feel like a little kid again.
I love visiting friends this time of year and seeing their decorations, hearing about their holiday traditions (I’m so sentimental, myself!), and watching favorite movies together. Home – The place we relax, let our hair down, and make tea often. Here’s a little peak into mine!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and that the time spent with family and friends is both relaxing and happy. I have so much to be grateful for and when the Christmas joy is in the air, it’s hard not to sit back and recognize just truly how good life is – despite the hardships that the holidays can bring or remind us of. There is hope. There is a new year coming with new opportunities and new joys to be shared.
Always,
–Tara M.
