The room was quiet. So quiet you could hear a pin drop. Whether or not he was ready, it was here. The day had come. With a smile and a nod of thanks, he followed my directions to face away. To look out the window until he felt a tap on his shoulder. Her dress rustled softly on the carpet as she approached.
Ultimate joy was ahead of her and for him? Joy, yes, but mingled with inevitable loss of what had always been and a transition into welcoming this new stage of life. The anticipated tap on his shoulder came and he turned. Oh, how gorgeous, how radiant, she was. His little girl who wasn’t so little anymore. His pride and joy was now a Bride. He pulled her closer and closer as the tears ran down among the smiles. She had waited for this day. They whispered sweet things to one another and he kissed her shoulder gently, soaking up this last precious moment alone. And what every little girl needs to feel & hear from her dad, he was there giving and affirming.
A day marked by kindness and thoughtfulness.
It was in that moment that we realized it was all coming true. Joshua & Katie’s priorities for meaningful moments, meaningful conversations, and meaningful experiences, with family and each other were unfolding before our eyes. Each sibling. Each grandparent. Each cousin. Each college friend. They were all there to celebrate. Of being together. Of a new life. Of old & new found friends. In this way, Joshua & Katie’s wedding day – from the simple & intentional details to their personalized vows and the family’s homemade pasta recipes – quickly became a day marked by kindness and thoughtfulness.
We loved celebrating in the aisle and behind closed doors with Joshua & Katie. We love what we do. Partly for those tearful moments (where we’re blurry-eyed too) and partly for those legacy moments unfolding in front of our cameras. Joshua and Katie, you have a strong legacy of love. Of tenderness. Of committed joy for others. Your wedding day, at your home church in Indianapolis, was a gorgeous one!!
You. Did. It. Now really, throw all the confetti….lavender.

Joshua & Katie —
It’s no lie that the past couple months have been a whirlwind. Through it all – planning a wedding, graduating college, celebrating other family member’s weddings – we have been so impressed by you two. Your graciousness. Your contagious joy. Your desire to love others well & to care deeply. They are not only qualities that define who you are today, but we’re confident will continue to define the type of home & life you’ll build together. As you draw closer to Jesus, you will also draw closer together as husband and wife. And we can’t wait to see all the adventures that will bring!! Truly. Thank you for trusting us with your love story and for allowing us the opportunity to serve you and your families on this sweet, sweet day. Congratulations!!
