If you listen, you can hear birds chirping
as the sun dries up the bits of rain from the morning’s showers.
The long, tree-lined lane leading up to The Barley Sheaf Inn and Farm gives each new guest a first impression of elevated elegance. From pastured horses, well-groomed hedges, and wild flowers clinging to each building, to the painted ceilings and luxurious suites within, your impression only continues to expand.
Quite simply, marrying your best friend at a venue like this just became that much more magical…
Sharing in & telling Mike & Adrienne’s love story through
the cobbled streets of Old Town, Alexandria,
the docks of the Potomac,
and now the fields surrounding an historic Inn
nestled within the Pennsylvania countryside,
has been nothing short of a sweet adventure.
These two excel in hospitality like I’ve never seen in a bride & groom before. The way they care for their nearest & dearest and each other is inspiring.
Here’s a few (too many) favorites from their wedding day!…

He hears his name and turns…
Oh Adrienne, how he gazes.
Oh how those smiles escape, helplessly.
Over 15 months of planning,
of dreaming, finally closes.
A new beginning, a new kind of Hullo,
is just a matter of moments away.
Opening a sweet, sweet thing: Marriage.
Memories take the form of people and the stories gathered.
Deep belly laughs escape from all corners.
And the celebration rings aloud, sometimes in a contagious uproar.
Yes, this is the beginning of good, good things.
My dear Mike & Adrienne,
From squeezing in a FaceTime sesh while I was visiting my fiancé (of two weeks)
and hearing about your Paris proposal and Irish wedding plans,
to walking around a lot in Old Town for your engagement session (last fall)
and then flying to the Pennsylvania countryside to photograph your wedding
(with my – now – husband alongside of me),
I’m pretty sure we’ve been through a lot together.
Thank you for trusting me with your story. Your highs & lows. Your adventures.
I am honored.
And I can’t wait for what is yet to come.
To the epic bridal party – you were a joy to hang out with!
To the Bride & Groom’s families – thank you for loving so well, so genuinely.
To the amazing team of vendors – you made magic happen. Thank you.
