If I’m being honest, today has not been the best on the productivity meter. If you could see my mind, the picture below would be pretty accurate – everything running together! The internet at home is down. However, the coffee shop around the corner is open and it has wifi. I guess the obligatory coffee purchase isn’t so bad….
*Cue the Spotify “Browse –> Chill –> ‘Totally Stress Free'” playlist!
I can’t believe we are already halfway through the month of January! And while I’d say that the New Year always brings a sense of excitement for new things and new goals (or at least steps in the right direction in achieving those goals), it can also freak me out sometimes. And before I know it, what was initially inspirational has turned into self-inflicted pressure and stress!
Sure, there are deadlines and there should be a sense of urgency to keep me moving. However, I’m reminding myself to give myself grace. To make manageable to-do lists and break them down to everyday (and sometimes hourly) tasks. Otherwise, I’m a flurry of movement with little accomplished. When I slow down, the execution of those tasks becomes not only more manageable, but purposeful and once again, inspirational.
Keep it simple. Keep moving forward. Keep making check marks!
Don’t let the rest of today blur because of an unproductive morning (or week)! There’s still time left in the day and the weekend to add some fun (and check marks) to any to-do list!
Here are few things I’m working on:
- Read at least 1 chapter in Bonhoeffer
- Create blogging schedule
- Create online learning wish list & follow up with adding it to iCalendar
- Write thank you notes
- Exercise!!!
- Eat more protein
- Order business cards
What helps you be more productive? What are some things you’d like to see done before January is over?
Always,
–Tara M.
