As some of you know, I have a part time job with Anthropologie. You know, the store that provides an experience for each client that walks in – be it in their lit candles around the store, the plethora of inspiring home goods, or shopping their unique, travel-inspired clothing options. I’ve loved working in the fitting rooms area recently because it gives me full opportunity to help women piece outfits together! They walk out for a second opinion, my opinion, and sometimes the yay or nay from a girlfriend who came along too. Anthro has also given me a new reason to dress up more often!…

It’s been fun to have co-workers who approach their style expressions much like I do. Especially in the skirt or shirt OVER a dress concept!
The Look: The skirt brings lengthens the hem line and the crop top adds a little extra pattern-spunk. I chose a blue & gold statement necklace because of the color story I introduce in the Mix it Up look – keep scrolling!
Mix it Up – Skirt & top: I recently bought this striped shirt and just haven’t been able to stop wearing it. It’s quite similar to another one I have, but I love the dropped shoulder seams and thinner fabric.
The Experiment: I brought in the black and white pattern in through the batwing shirt, swapped the blue from the necklace with a blue skirt, and added a wide, black belt!
Three looks – all similar in style and color. With having a few trips coming up and my need to dress up for Anthropologie, I’m really loving styling complimentary looks with only a few differing pieces!
What do you think? Are you catching onto this color story concept in your own wardrobe? Tell me in the comments!
