Two weeks ago, Travis & Selah kicked off my wedding season with their Indiana destination wedding (in my own hometown). The wide open skies, surrounding corn fields, and gorgeous rustic barns set the atmosphere for tying the knot at Travis’ childhood home and farm. The rain subsided the morning of and the finishing touches began – positioning hay bales for guest seating and filling vases with wild flowers – by friends and soon to be in-laws. The bride was stowed away and pampered upstairs and the groom kept nerves at bay with coffee (which apparently he never drinks).
It may have been piping hot, but the joy on Selah’s face and the tears in Travis’ eyes as he saw her for the first time walking down the aisle made me realize why I do what I do. It’s for moments like these and sealing them forever in time…what an honor!
I loved it that both Selah and Travis had a mix of siblings, relatives, and dear friends mixed into their wedding party. The girls gave me that southern sass and the guys had their swagger down!
Soon enough, the country music started playing, the fried chicken quickly disappeared, and smiles and love just kept coming. Travis built the dance floor and as you know from their love story, dancing is a favorite with these two!
Mr. and Mrs. Luke, it wasn’t a dream – it really happened! You’re married!!! Congratulations once again and thank you for allowing me to be part of such a special day for you. I am grateful for your friendship and look forward to more memories to come (volleyball, Indiana dunes, or after-church lunch sometime?)!
Always,
–Tara M.
