Whether you’re passing through the area on your way to the wineries of Paso Robles (about a 3-hour drive from LA), celebrating a weekend getaway, or booking your European-inspired wedding weekend experience, Allegretto Vinyard Resort is one of the top wedding venues in the area & one of my favorite places in Central California.

Is it Europe or is it California?
The entire property makes you believe you have been transported to the South of France or Italy with its curated gardens, European historic chapel, piazza-style of courtyards, and great stone hearths with crackling fires throughout.
I love recommending Allegretto Vinyard Resort for that European luxury wedding experience that is also certified in sustainability & green practices. It’s close to the quaint town of Paso Robles – home to some world-renowned wines (always recommending & loving Austin Hope wines!) – with over 200 wineries to choose from for a memorable welcome party experience.
Staying & Olive Oil Tasting in Paso Robles
Visiting the resort had been on my bucket list for a while, so when my husband surprised me with an anniversary trip that included staying a night at Allegretto, I was over the moon!
Upon entering, you are greeted with the grandeur of a sprawling staircase, a crackling fire, and the scent of the onsite restaurant beckoning you to come in and stay a while. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and I appreciated the attention to detail throughout.
We enjoyed bocce ball, giant chess, and cornhole lawn games.
And an unexpected highlight was also tasting olive oils from a local vendor pop-up in the foyer: The 82-year-old gentleman at the booth was the owner himself, dressed in a vested suit, and his tan, leathery skin giving away the clues to his passion for olive groves as he served us generous tastings of all his best olive oils & balsamic vinegar. I swear he was straight out of old Hollywood with his Gene Kelly style of smooth speaking & down to earth ease.
We wanted to buy everything he had (delicious!) and will make visiting his ranch a priority on our next trip.
And while we had already made reservations elsewhere, we heard nothing but great things about the onsite restaurant, Ciello, for anything from happy hours to brunch, lunch, or dinner.
Sustainable, Eco-Conscious Wedding Celebrations & Al Fresco Dining
Hosting your wedding at Allegretto Vinyard Resort offers all the conveniences & accommodations of a luxury hotel, while also providing an outdoor setting that will transport you to the Mediterranean. Speckled with olive trees, cypress, and curated hedges — already strewn with twinkle lights — and two arbors providing unique architectural garden elements, this venue is ideal for outdoor weddings with gorgeous Al Fresco dining experiences.
You could also choose from the inner courtyard, which is filled with bubbling fountains, immaculate landscaping, and firepits that will also equally delight your guests and make a great welcome party or wedding cocktail hour experience.
Photographically, there are several iconic areas throughout the property. For romantic portraits or a First Look, I love the Abbey Chapel or the lavender and vineyard to the east of the property. The vineyards have sweeping sunset views over the mountains and paths with blooming flowers and showcase the back of the hotel which looks like one amazing European villa!
Last but not least, Allegretto’s onsite restaurant, Ciello, provides a delicious menu for laid-back rehearsal dinners or next-day brunch experiences.
All of it is within easy driving distance from the quaint towns of Los Olivos & San Luis Obispo for other wedding weekend adventures and only about 3 hours outside of Los Angeles.

Best Wineries near Allegretto Vineyards Resort
Everyone will talk about Justin or Dauo Vinyards wineries. And Dauo does have a truly stunning vista view and an excellent Chardonnay. But the real gem, just a quick 11 minutes from Allegretto, is Austin Hope Winery. With so many varieties performing at world-class status, it’s impossible to not compare all of your other wine tasting experiences to that of Austin Hope Family Wines. If you want an excellent wine to pair with your wedding reception, their Cab or Petite Sirah is incredible.
We also enjoyed visiting Hammersky Vineyards (another gorgeous wedding & event venue as well, about 20 minutes from Allegretto) for its laidback, countryside feel & chardonnay tastings under their olive & oak trees.
