We took one look at Abbey’s Sottero and Midgley’s wedding dress, her colorful bridal bouquet (beautifully made by her mother), and all the other sentimental details and we just knew: this. day. is. amazing. already.
“…Scott’s four year old son…believed he was the one getting married. He, like the groom, had a classic watch as a wedding gift, matching shoes, and a love letter from the bride…”
The couple shared their first look at Abbey’s grandmother’s house with a gazebo – a nod to where her parents had their wedding portraits taken. After the ceremony, we all gathered at Tower Grove Park before heading to the party at NEO on Locust. The farm-style head table was laden with fresh pink peonies, sprawling house plants and handwritten place cards while twinkle lights laced through exposed beams above. Quite simply: gorgeous.
But perhaps what plucked our heart strings the most was Abbey & Scott’s involvement with Jace – Scott’s 4 year old son and the Best Man. All day he believed he was the one getting married. He, like the groom, had a classic watch as a wedding gift, matching shoes, and a love letter from the bride. Jace was there for the vows, the blessing of the rings and later the reception toasts.
Abbey & Scott’s elegant, yet down to earth, wedding day was full of blue skies (praise!), uproars of laughter, and both eyes brimming with tears and plates brimming with St Louis BBQ from Pappy’s Smokehouse – a tribute to Abbey’s grandfather, Pappy.
Congratulations Scott & Abbey & Jace! We’re obsessed with you three!
Abbey & Scott —
